Hello world. We're from Iowa.

Welcome to the latest startup community initiative from Welch Avenue: IowaExpats.co

I intend to use this blog as a dedicated place to identify Iowa expats, share their stories, and find ways to connect them back to Iowa. The idea is not to shame them for leaving or convince them to move back (though that would be great!) but rather to make sure they're proud of the place they come from and that they feel they have a connection to it. For more background of this idea, go here.

The focus will be on current Iowa expats working in technology and startups but I'll include a few from other industries and a few historical anecdotes from time-to-time.

I'd like this to be a collaborative effort - from both current Iowans and and Iowa expats - so if you have ideas or want to contribute something, please let me know.
