Gravi-Staff Update

I’m excited to formally announce that the Gravitate Coworking team has now grown to include seven (7!) team members as Olivia Rowling and Lauren Matysik, who started with us in a part-time capacity last year, are now onboard in a full-time capacity, woot!

Olivia takes over as our Community Manager at the Gravitate Coworking—Downtown location in Des Moines so she’s most likely the first face you’ll see when you enter on Locust St. Olivia has worked in, for and around Gravitate in various capacities on and off for several years, so she’s very familiar with all of our goings-on and most of our members.

Lauren is taking over as Community Manager at the Gravitate Coworking—Midtown location in Windsor Heights. Lauren is a former Gravitate member so she knows a lot about how we work, too, and is also a professional creative who has offered to spiffy-up the Gravitate brand, so you’ll likely spot some visual changes—for the better!—in a lot of our communications, graphic elements and online presence.

Tabitha Jamerson, who first joined our team in 2020, is moving over from her role as Community Manager at Midtown to take on our new and exciting task of getting Gravitate Coworking—East Village up and running. One of Tabitha’s first projects was to get Midtown up and running, and she did such a good job that we asked her to do it again with the bigger location.

Finally, I’d like to share that Abby Rowling has been formally promoted to full focus as Gravitate’s Director of Operations with responsibility to guide the Community Manager team, to define and implement processes and policies at all our locations, and of course, all the other duties that randomly come up in the course of being an indispensable right-hand-person in the company. Abby has had the shared title of Director of Operations/Downtown Community Manager for far too long, and for our company to continue to grow and improve, we needed to free up her time from the day-to-day Community Manager role.

Congratulations to Olivia, Lauren, Tabitha and Abby, and shout-out to the good work that Tara Pickering is doing at Gravitate Coworking—Cedar Falls and Jake Slobe is doing with Clay & Milk. We have a big year in front of us in 2022, and I’m excited to head straight into it with you all as our team.
